Late 1950's, Part 1 - Five of our Favorite Physique Photographers

Today's double feature centers on the late 1950's with one or two possible shots from 1960.
Part one has photos by five well known physique photographers, starting with this one
of Jack Thomas by Russ Warner.  Jack was Young Mr. America of 1956.

  1. The pose is a bit dramatic, and it looks like his armpits are shaved. But his body is well muscled and the shadows are cool. Lightly oiled?

  2. One can date this photograph to the mid-1950s from Jack Thomas's tan line alone. The Fifties required full coverage and frontal modesty.

  3. A wonderful shot of the ever confident and joyful Jack. Although I've seen this one before, I'd never noticed the shadows. They certainly add the the exuberant sense of drama.

    1. I only wish the photo had captured him head to toe.

    2. Yes, that is a pity. Although this cropped style does emphasise that superb torso. Can you tell I'm rather fond of Mr Thomas?

  4. Jack Thomas est encroyable, un joyeux Californien.
Le visage et le corps sont beaux.
