Seven bums

This reminds me of a scene from the original movie M*A*S*H, but it is actually from 1945 by Ralph Morse.  You neglected Bum Brigade members might like this one.

  1. I wondered why they were "on stage," until I noticed that it's a flat bed truck.

    1. It's a great design, requiring less setup time than the usual arrangement.

  3. If I have an unforgiving scorn for human stupidity, it is only matched by my admiration for human ingenuity. Why could we not have invented shower lorries to alleviate the squalor of the poorest districts of our industrial cities and only have thought of them for soldiers?

    1. Well, it is still war related, but these sort of things were put to use for civilians . . . by Goebbels of all people. As Gauleiter of Berlin, he arranged mobile showers for the "dehoused" residents of working class areas after Allied air raids. Of course it was all calculated for propaganda and war waging effect, but it was done.

    2. Yes, they seem to have been very organized when it came to showers.

    3. Yes, Himmler and his henchmen's version was what my grandmother called "the ultimate criminal act of all history."

  4. Such variety…so little time!

Would love if they had taken a movie of this scene!

    1. Click the "movie" label in the column at right, and something similar should turn up in the group.
