Theodore?
There's a guy on line selling post cards of this photo calling it "Theodore in the Grass with Boots."
I had a pair of gardening boots like those back in the 70s. I would worry about ants if I were Theo.
We don't have fire ants here in the North, like you do in Texas. Maybe Theodore doesn't need to worry about ants after all. He's handsome, uncircumcised, and hairy. Can I get him for Valentine's Day?
According to Texas A&M University, imported fire ants arrived in East Texas in the 1950s. We didn't have then where I grew up in the West, but they showed up in later after I moved out of state

ReplyDeleteMaybe you should send him a postcard of himself as a Valentine. BTW, I havent lived in Texas since 1978, and we do have ants here in Hawaii.
DeleteWhen did fire ants invade Texas, anyway? 1930s for the really nasty red ones, apparently.

DeleteOh HELL, YEAH!
DeleteWow, really nice one.
ReplyDeleteI'm calling this one "splendor in the grass!"
ReplyDeleteYes, I'd call Teddy splendid.
DeleteMy favorite for today, what a great shot and Theodore is just yummy!
