I'm closing out the Pomade and Thatch series with a bonus photo of Vic Seipke
by Douglas of Detroit. Although lacking somewhat in the bush department,
Always a pleasure to see Vic again. He was a doll with a true championship physique. And by the way, he was lucky to have worked with Douglas of Detroit. This photo is technically gorgeous. The pose, the framing of his body between those pine trees, the light, everything.
Doug Juleff was indeed a tragic genius. He never went back to nude photography after he got out of prison, not even when it became legal. I think he lived well into the 1990's, btw.
There is sexy, raunchy, suggestive and lewd. Vic Seipke was masculine beauty. Surely one of the most harmoniously proportioned bodies the world has ever seen. What a handsome man.
I would only add that Mr. Seipke's range as a model was amazing. Indoors or outdoors, harsh lighting or soft lighting, clothed or fully nude . . . it always seemed to work. Doug Juleff, Clifford Oettinger, and fellow model Bob Delmonteque all photographed him with great results.
True. I'm pretty sure that some of those outdoor shots on the windy Lake Michigan shore took some product to keep that pompadour perfectly shaped. In close-ups, his hair doesn't look greasy, so I'm left wondering exactly what he used on it.
Hello Jerry , I really like Vic but I Wonder how much time he , or his hairdresser kept Everyday to keep this absurd thing correctly in place ?
ReplyDeleteWell, it had to take some work, didn't it?

DeleteAmazing...and works so well with Vic's superb naked body.
ReplyDeleteAnd, for the record, he is still alive and living in Florida. In his 80s and still handsome.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. A hopefully proud of his modelling work, knowing he inspired some many men.
DeleteThanks! I didn't know that, and I'm glad to hear it.
DeleteI love hearing that these guys are still alive and well!

DeleteSome guys had a head full of natural waves. Only took some combing and Brylcreem (a little dab'll do ya!). I think Vic was one of those lucky ones.
