Friday Favorites, Part 1 - Photos

I regularly get asked what my favorite vintage images are, and the answer(s) changes every time.  So every so often, I post the current ones, and they will make today's double feature, with half a dozen photos and half a dozen art pieces.  We start with an unnamed minor league baseball player and his dog.  They both look happy and carefree in the shower together.  From the LIFE Archive.
Is it just me, or does he look a bit like William Holden?

    1. I have a few more from this shower series. This is the best and the only cock shot but the Life photographer did manage to get others as the dog moved around balanced on two paws in the shower. Chuck was beautiful and he also was a highly skilled dog trainer. The dog in this photo was called London and was the star of a 1950's - 1960's Canadian TV show called "The Littlest Hobo". Chuck looks very much like a co-worker I always wanted to see nude so this image was a double turn on for me.

    2. Yes, I have those other pictures, too, or at least some of them. Having followed up and read Dart's link, I can say that the man and the dog were both beautiful and talented.

  2. I've seen the photo posted elsewhere "positively" stating it was Bill Holden.

    1. Even though we know better, I can see why somebody claimed that.

  3. This is also one of my very favorite vintage images. Last year, I was able to discover that this was Chuck Eisenmann when another site posted this image and while they did not know his name, they knew the minor league team with which he was associated at the time. It took about an hour of Google and Wikipedia searches before I learned the name of one of my favorite naked baseball players.

    1. With a resume' like his, you'd think his photos would be identified.

  4. Bugger! I knew he looked familiar. I met him ion the set of The Littlest Hobo when I was in an episode. He was the dog wrangler.
