Giancarlo
Here we see Giancarlo Zampetti in a posing strap that would resemble
a woman's bikini bottom if it didn't have a high capacity pouch.
This was the era when tie-side bikinis for men were a fad, certainly in America, but given how every photo in this series demonstrates just how poor and run-down post-war Britain really was, I think it might have been a lack of elastic that proved the mother of invention. Clothes rationing ended in 1949, but there were desperate shortages well into the 1950s.
It needed to be high capacity to accommodate Giancarlo.
