Jack Lemmon and Juliet Mills
Juliet Mills apparently surprised Jack Lemmon in his bath in Avanti from 1972.
Now, Jack Lemmon could be very, very funny. In The Odd Couple and Grumpier Old Men, he teamed up with Walter Matthau which was the best comedy duo since Jack Benny and George Burns. (Jack Benny doing drag with George Burns was an object lesson in how to do drag. Quite brilliant - and still funny.) How we were spoilt in those days.
His body looks better than I expected it to. My mother and I watched "Some Like It Hot" together twice, and maybe a third time. My mother did not like many current films, so we only saw a few movies together more than once. Another is "The Birds." They don't make them like they used definitely applies to Jack Lemmon.
Is it just me, or is the color of that water a little worrying?
ReplyDeleteYikes! Did they do so many takes that he couldn't make a head call?

ReplyDeleteYes, we were spoiled. Jack Lemmon was brilliant in Some Like It Hot.

ReplyDeleteThe closing line of Some Like It Hot is unforgettable. When Jack Lemmon tells Joe E. Brown that he's a man, the reply is, "Nobody's perfect."
