Farmer II
I can't tell if our second farmer of the day (and final photo of the set) is shoveling dirt or manure.
It could easily have been either as Muybridge did usen cows and horses in his work.
I really didn't know to much about him, or his work until I saw the documentary "Exposing Muybridge" last year. Needless to say it was an engaging history lesson. Thanks Jerry more to explore!

ReplyDeleteYes, some sort of hat. Farmers almost always wear hats when outdoors, which is where the great majority of these photos were made.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Pat. Muybridge's personal life was a real potboiler with scandal, a murder charge, and multiple lawsuits, just to mention a few items.
