I don't know if the model's position obscuring his face was intentional or not,
but this beach photo with dune grass is a personal favorite from the private scrapbook.

  1. That is an interesting effect. I noticed that all the pix in this series seem to be fuzzy. Is that due to age? Or just due to his being an inexperienced photographer? Or both? Another terrific series, Jerry. Thanks.

    1. I don't know the story behind these photos other than that they were in Denfield's private collection. Some of them look like they might have been from early in his experience as a photographer, however. Perhaps he wasn't yet using the best materials, techniques, or equipment.

  2. Cute. Just a bloke enjoying being nude on the beach...shielding eyes from the sun perhaps. A day at the beach...long ago..

    1. Yes, a day at the beach. I find it beyond interesting that Denfield would just show up at nude beaches with a some beer and a camera in the early 1950s, and men would let him photograph them nude.
