This is the first of two photos of this pair in today's series.
If the man on the left is trying for a take-down, he is going to have a tough time of it using that "hold." Which leads me to think that real wrestling was not the goal here.

ReplyDeleteI think your conclusion is valid for most of this type of photo with the real objective being to show off muscles and body shapes.
DeleteInteresting pose...I do like the way many photographs of the period have a nice carpet.
