Mike and Ron

I featured another photo from this session in my last
Mike Bradburn series.  The other model is Ron Rector.

  1. The lighting here is very nice! It's unique that the male who's standing is "busting out." Great musculature on both men...this is a terrific shot, Jerry. Thanks!

    1. I thought you'd like this one, B.D. That lighting really makes the muscles look chiseled.

  2. Mike and Ron did a Kris film together titled Cabin In The Woods. Ron was a pro football player for Green Bay and Atlanta. Shortly after making that film Ron died in a motorcycle accident. He was 24 years old.

    1. I knew about the film, but had no idea about the tragic death of Ron.

  3. Thanks for a great series today on Kris models. You featured some of his best work with some of my favorite models.

Superb series today, you made some great choices. Very stimulating, I must say.

  5. Wow! Mikey’s got hair; not that his buzz cut looked bad. I thought it made him look like a teenager. Ron’s another story and kind of a mystery. He was drafted (not by the Army) by Green Bay in 1966, playing for what appears to be 1 season, then traded to another team. He was finished with pro ball by ‘68. Even in 1960’s U.S. professional athletes seldom if ever posed nude. Because of the posing straps and short hair, this was probably taken in ‘66 or’67, because by ‘68 posing straps became superfluous. It’s pure speculation on my part, but for a pro athlete to pose for a known gay studio (yes I know plenty of nude models are straight) I’m thinking Rector was closeted and wanted some publicity for a career change.

    1. We'll never know what Ron Rector might have went on to do had he not been killed in that accident. We also can't really know what his motivation was for posing in an obviously gay themed movie. Pro football careers tend to be short and to involve painful injuries, so looking toward a change in professions could be a wise move. Ultimately, it's tragic for him to die so young.

    2. I really liked RON RECTOR. Was all of his physique posing for KRIS of Chicago? Did RON ever pose fully nude?

    3. He never, to my knowledge, posed frontally nude, but I do have a great derriere shot. AFAIK, his limited modeling work was all with KRIS while a college student at Northwestern in Chicago. He tragically died as the result of a motorcycle accident at age 24 two years into an NFL career.

    4. I wonder if the reason RON never posed frontally nude was his belief that he never be able to play Pro Football if he did. There likely were "moral clauses" in the contracts NFL players had that could be deemed violated if a Player posed fully nude. RON took a lot of risks posing for KRIS as he did.!

  6. The Dynamic Duo. Bradburn and Rector belong together, GREAT bods both!
Shame about Rector, I'm sure it must have affected Bradburn.
You don't pose nekkid and do a stag short with another jock and not form a bond from that intimacy, even if no sex is involved. Bro-mance. :)

  7. Mike Bradburn was a football player too. He played running back for Northwestern University in the Big Ten league in 1965 and 1966. He’s still alive and he lives in California. He has a wife and son.
