This photo of Monroe Wheeler on a lounge chair is hard to describe, so I won't. I'll just add that Mr. Wheeler was a highly regarded publisher and museum curator who was in a three way relationship for 10 years with his long term lover Glenway Prescott and George Platt Lynes. To further complicated matters, Wheeler also had a relationship with at least one of Lynes' models. Complicated, eh?
Marvelous light again, and a good, relaxed pose. After reading your blurb, I wonder if they enjoyed their mutual maleness after the photo was taken.
ReplyDeleteFun Guy!!
ReplyDeleteThe three-way relationship plus the numerous other relationships that each party had was complicated. Confusing for the reader trying to make sense of who, what and when in the Lynes biography too.

While the relationships were certainly complicated, there are less confusing accounts of them available from sources other than the biography.
