Shoes
This one leaves me wondering if Charlie kept his shoes on through the whole photo shoot.
It's khaki and according to regulations worn by officers "when performing office work, watchstanding duties, and while on liberty or conducting business ashore."
This rather reminds me of the exchange between the film director Morris Weissman (Bob Balaban) and the butler Mr Jennings (Alan Bates) in the film Gosford Park:
Jennings: An Englishman is not waited on at breakfast, sir.
Mr Weissman: How interesting - because an American is.
Is that uniform supposed to be his "whites" or is it light blue? I'm presuming it's the Pacific theatre issue.

DeleteKhaki in the Navy? My goodness me...
