Isn't it a pip that, derriere shots rarely show any sign that the male is wearing a strap? Obviously the laws of the time considered the penis and scrotum "obscene." But if the models were naked...ah, I just hope we don't go back to all that bullshit.
Genitalia was indeed the big no-no. Some photographers occasionally didn't bother to take the straps off when they turned the models around for derriere shots.
