Art Modern
The image quality isn't the greatest, but I like this picture of Ray Anderson by Art Modern.
Jerry--who was really behind Art Modern.? The California Online Records does not list Art Modern as a Studio. I have noticed that many Art Modern Models were also Lon Hanagan models but definitely not all of them. I have over 15 Art Modern photos and still have no idea who was the Photographer.?
No idea, but the model pool overlap with Lon Hanagan suggests a New York base. Pure speculation here, but could Lon have used an alternate name while he was going through his legal problems? Having said that, the target prop doesn't seem like Lon's style.
Even Tim in Vermont does not have information about Art Modern. But there must be somebody out there who knows.?? Lon Hanagan might be a good guess but you are right about that Target prop. Lon would never have used that and it looks Tacky in that photo TBH.
A classic pose. Too bad it's so grainy.
ReplyDeleteReally!
DeletePosing in from of a target makes me feel a little queasy...

DeleteMost of the grain, looks like digital conversion pixel error ( early dithering)
ReplyDeleteIn other words, a crappy scan.
