Lynes
The men, the shadows, and the patterns in the plywood all combine
nicely in this George Platt Lynes photo of the Ritter Brothers.
Yes, it's daring, but it wasn't publicly shown for at almost three decades after it was taken. Lynes and the Ritters did it for the sheer artistic value. The nude and semi-nude photos the brothers' took and distributed were good, and even artistic in their own way, but nothing approaching Lynes.

We'll never know for sure, but there are stories of them taking models home for more than just picture taking sessions.
