Photographer Max Koch and painter/architect Otto Rieth joined forces in the winter of 1894-95 to produce an almost epochal series of nude photos called Der Act. Koch's technical skills with cameras and mirrors combined with Rieth's architectural talents to produce some remarkable work which I will sample in the two halves of our Sunday double feature. We start with a favorite model.
Without your blog, I wouldn't know such creative and artistic photos exist. Thanks for this very unique series.

These are wonderful. Even though I've seen most of them before, they always amaze me. One to try?
ReplyDeleteWhy not? This one makes me think of Atlas.
DeleteI will...
DeleteI was thinking of Hercules. Atlas was too tall to need to stand on a pillar.
DeleteThat one would work, too.
