1978? Really?

Is it just me, or does this unknown cover man look like he doesn't belong in the 1970s?
Oh, and I'm really wondering what sex tips Paul Lynde had to offer Playgirl's readers.

  1. This is definitely a parody. If the Paul Lynde advice line didn't get you, the Squeaky Fromme bit should have. Squeaky was a member of the Manson family who attempted to assassinate President Ford in 1975.

    1. I knew who Squeaky Fromme is, but didn't read the line below the name, lol.

  2. I don't think that was a real front cover. I don't think any magazine could have a picture of a man's penis on the front.

    1. Yes, it's a fake, but I've seen a few magazines (porn, not mainstream) with a penis on the cover.

  3. Another clue is "Centerfold contest winner by Venfield8". Venfield8 has made a number of fake magazine covers, and he is undoubtedly the author of this one. See my post on him https://unashamedmale.blogspot.com/2021/12/blog-post_15.html
Although Venfield8 remains anonymous, his website says he has been shooting photography for "almost two decades", i.e. after 2000, which explains why the model on the magazine cover doesn't look like the 1970s.

Even though it's fake, it was fun to see it.

    1. Thanks, Larry. It was fun to look at and fun to see the viewer responses.

    2. The model is Brian Maier, and if you scroll back in his Instagram feed (@brianmaier) you find that in 2015 he posted some images from what looks like this same shoot … taken by Venfield8! Mr. Maier has given me the vapors FOREVER.

    3. Thanks, Furry! That puts it all in perspective.
