Billy Hitchcock

The modern bench in this photo of Billy Hitchcock makes
me think it was made late in Constantine's career.

  1. Ah, Billy Hitchcock. A favorite of mine when he frequently posed for AMG as Lynn "Lil Bear" Hitchcock in the mid 1960s. I think his Spartan work was done a few years later. He still looked good to me!

  2. I thought Spartan of Hollywood only was around in the 40's and 50s?
Never thought Constantine Hassalevris was still working in physique photography in the 60s, especially the mid to later 60s when explicit images were becoming the norm. (From classy to porny)
He published a cookbook "Constantine Cooks the Greek Way " in 1962.
I figured with that book, he transitioned out of physique photography and Spartan was no more. -Rj/IE

  3. A truly splendid work. Our model has a contemplative pose, yet dynamic, which nicely displays his angular physique. Not the usual evocation of the classical world or the beach. But a cropped plain background and, the simple lines of the mid-century stool make for a, to me, rather special work.

    1. Leave it to you to find the clever correspondence of the angularity of the man and the stool. Why didn't I think of that?
