Blackie
When he wasn't busy portraying Narcissus for Bob Mizer,
Blackie Preston made it over to Bobco for a session.
Blackie Preston was incorigeable, wasn't he, with that baby face. He didn't give an airborne liaison. Like John "Butch" Davidson with whom he often posed until John was posted to Guam, where he so sadly died. I have heard they were having a scene but I've never been able to substantiate that.
It's a shame that more of the photographers and models didn't write comprehensive memoires. I suppose it never occurred to them that there would be the level of historic interest we now have. We might attribute the lack of records to lingering shame, but most of them lived into the era when it was acceptable to discuss such matters. And like Blackie Preston, a lot of them didn't care anyway.
Bob Mizer complained that BLACKIE PRESTON spent too much time at the bars and couldn't model well because of that. (He hinted that he was a drunk) He worked in the dark room for Bruce of L.A. to make money. Mizer used him to make 11 AMG films despite his complaints. BLACKIE'S last film for AMG was "Blackie Preston at age 35" in 1979.!
That is so very true.! Even in 1975 when Mizer made "GOAT on Roof" with Blackie Preston and Casey Parker and the AMG Billy Goat it just felt like he made the film out of pity for Blackie. I never saw Casey Parker in anything except that film. It was an exceptionally awful film. IMHO Mizer was trying to give Blackie work yet knew he was not at his best as an actor or model. Mizer began to pity him from what I read.
This one shows a technique used in the dying days of censorship that involved placing the pecker on the thigh where it was hard (no pun intended) to tell if it was erect or just extended a bit.
