We're taking a break from photography on day 6 of our week in LA for a look at the art of Harry Bush. Yes, that was his real name. He was said to be a recluse who never came to deal with his sexuality and destroyed a considerable amount of his own work. What remains is wonderful.
Great series today! I enjoyed every post. You're right, the drawings have a lot going on with them. I kept thinking of Rod Stewart's tune "Every Picture Tells a Story".
ReplyDeleteYes, that song title fits Harry Bush quite well. Glad you enjoyed the series!
DeleteYour Harry Bush series was enjoyable, as all your series are Jerry.
ReplyDeleteToo bad Harry did not get the recognition he deserved (like many of his contemporaries) with his series of "California Boys" drawings.

Recognition came late to Mr. Bush at least partly because he didn't really seem to seek it.
