Late 19th Century

This is the second of three works in today's series that have a date (roughly
in this case at 19th C), but no artist.  I have to say that I have doubts about
the dating on this one.  Doesn't it look more recent than that?

  1. Something about the hairstyle...makes it look mid-20th Century. Also, he doesn't seem to have a "classical" penis.

    1. Well, dating by penis size is a risky venture, and the 19th Century painters had mostly dropped the "Classical" style in that regard anyway.

  2. I was going to say he reminds me of a neighbor I had back in the late 1980s, but I can't get the term "classical penis" out of my mind. 😋
