Academic Art of the 19th Century - Bearded Models Day


I have a huge collection of 19th C. academic art, so it is easy to get specific with secondary themes, and today it will be bearded models, starting with this handsome fellow by Leon Augustine L'Hermitte.

    1. Even with the support of the staff, one can see the difficulty.

    2. Forward tilt caused by the wedge under the right foot. Partly corrected by that hip drop, that we all do when standing for a long time, but that can ache after a while. Stabilised by the sturdy bamboo pole, with three-way grip...
