Lord Leighton
I'm not sure if this is an academic work or a study for a more elaborate piece, possibly a sculpture.
I do know that it is by Lord Frederick Leighton, a highly regarded 19th C. artist.
Given the relaxed nudity standards of pre-Muybridge's day. (Thus when actual accurate depictions became possible, and a general reluctance to be photographed naked, wafted into society...) It could be a Lord acquaintance of his that merely admired a former sketch, and opportunity arose to pose for him. [aka it could be Rich Dick!]
This is my second favourite in the series.

The guy does have a somewhat aristocratic bearing.
DeleteThe cropped hair with full tache, good musculature and simplicity of the pose may indicate a military "friend". Anyway it's gorgeous.
DeleteRight, gorgeous!
