This is the cover to a 1965 calendar put out by Today's Physique magazine.
Actually, it was $1.00, and nearly all sales taxes in the USA are added on the the listed purchase price. I had a first time visitor from the UK who thought he was being overcharged the first time he went shopping until I explained it.
Wow... I knew I had problems but not to that extent! My optician is closed on lockdown and I'm about 9 months overdue for an eye test for my computer distance glasses!
$7.00 seems a bit steep in 1965 for 14 sheets of paper... Would that have included purchase tax for a luxury item?

ReplyDeleteI know that feeling only too well. If I don't get my progressive lenses updated on time, things start to go wonky.
