Lucky
Here we see Lucky Moore in a field of what appears to be grain sorghum.
The see-through drawers were almost a Champion trademark used to evade censors.
There were various different makes and styles - most of them used to great effect by Walter Kundzicz - but perhaps Lucky Moore's briefs typify the phenomenon better than most. Those would be a single-ply stretch Nylon, possibly billed as a "sports brief" to silence the locker room, but sold like hotcakes to wear beneath even formal wear. Most, even the coloured iterations, were virtually see-through and certainly left nothing to the imagination. I sometimes wonder if they were worn for the benefit of the locker room!

ReplyDeleteWonder? I'm pretty sure that was the case quite a bit of the time.
