Seven Models in Seven Days, Part 7 - Keith Stephan
For the last day of our Seven Models week, we have Keith Stephan, who looks
quite impressive against what looks like Bruce of LA's trademark corrugated metal
background painted white. Is this the original color or a later redo.
I have seen a couple of stray references that he killed himself at age 47, but no explanation as to the circumstances leading to it. Would be interesting to know.
Keith Stephan was born in 1927 and did not Marry until he was well into his mid 30s. Keith had wanted to have a happy Marriage and life. He had always been desribed as an "odd duck" and different. Keith could not walk into a Bar without ending up in a fight with some Man who wanted to challenge his toughness (he was usually the best built guy in a Bar) and Keith had a quiet and gentle nature. I think Keith believed that by marrying and having children he would normalize his life. He did have a son. But the Marriage was unhappy and ended in Divorce. His suicide was after the Divorce.
Wow. An amazing photograph. That corrugated metal adds an excellent, almost contemporary, industrial feel, and lots of creative shadow possibilities. To me, just the right amount of oiling, giving highlighting definition. Perfectly shaved and trimmed body hair, nicely showing off Keith's beautifully proportioned and balanced "hang".
Some links, showing him as a sailor: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/80892039/keith-m-stephan https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/3755619/keith-m-stephen https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LBM5-2W4
You're welcome. Unfortunately I can't find Keith or his any of his relatives on WikiTree, so I can't easily tell if he's my relative. FamilySearch would have only told me if he was a close relative.
No this is a man I would want for my birthday. Or Christmas. Or New Year's Eve. Or Monday.....
ReplyDeleteMake up your mind. I need to know when to send him round.
DeleteHe's so beautiful. Yet I believe he committed suicide, right? How sad...

DeleteThanks for the info, Cambria. Some people never find the path to happiness.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree that this is one of his better photos.

Thanks, Jim! I was aware of his Navy service, but the info from familysearch was new and interesting.
