Cruising
Alvin Baltrop captured a typical cruising scene in this photo.
People would go there then undress and maybe put their clothes in a bag but also just sun and lay out like it was a beach and see what happened. If someone was there they knew the scene.
It is a bit beyond my imagination that fellows could actually be bare below the waist in public.
ReplyDeleteWell, it wasn't like they were on Fifth Avenue. The Piers were a warren of decrepit docks, offices, and warehouses.

DeleteNever thought about it but it could well be candid with the slow shutter speed and sense of motion it caused.
