Butch by DSI
As far as I can tell, Butch was one of the longer lasting of these types of magazines, having lasted for at least 14 issues. That's probably because it was marketed by successful gay entrepreneurs DSI.
What year was this? Daring full frontal male nude for the time. Love his natural, normal, near hairless physique and sweet, wholesome look. And that uncircumcised cock nestled in a small amount of pubic hairs looks beautiful on him. Love to have been there for his photo-shoot, could have helped out in a certain way! The editors at DSI-Butch Magazine knew what they were doing, this must have been sold under the counter in those days. :)
Looks 67/68 to me. I was in HS from 68-72, in 68 guys were pretty much clean cut, by 69/70 longhair became the thing along with sideburns. Remember porkchop sideburns? Still that cover was daring, the model must have had no fear of being discovered by family or friends. :)

Probably 1969 or 70. This was legal then, but as you say, sold under the counter. Or perhaps in a brown wrapper.
