The Ritter Brothers took a turn before Earle Forbes camera with this impressive result.
Yet another wonderful image. Always nicely balanced poses. I assume they spent some time perfecting this.ReplyDelete
I'd say this was meticulously posed, and add that it would have been nice if more of these folks had written memoirs.Delete
It certainly is. Yes, if only, two lives cultivating and photographically celebrating the male physique in its natural state.Delete
The Ritter Brothers were stunners and you have posted some great photos of them on the site. George Platt Lynes photos of them are beautifully stylish ... although might lead one to question the closeness of the brothers relationship. In a previous post you mentioned that you needed to research the brothers lives post-1940 as they seem to drop off the map after that. Maybe an idea for a future series? Given that the brothers modelled and also worked as photographers themselves it's a shame that they didn't write their memoirs as I'm sure they would have had some interesting tales to tell.Delete
So far, my research on the Ritters has led nowhere, but I will try again using my genealogy resources.Delete
Thanks Jerry. Would be great if you are able to find anything on this intriguing pair of brothers.ReplyDelete
A beautifully arranged composition.ReplyDelete
