Donald and Fred
Donald Windham and Fred Melton posed for this interesting photo at Saint Marks Placen in New York City in 1942. Jared French produced a number of great photos that year, by the way.
This shot is generally listed as PaJaMa by museum curators.
I think that was an intentional part of French's setting up of the photo. I have other shots where there is a similar sort of mental detachment expressed. To me it says, "Physically close, but emotionally far apart."
Touching is nice and personal. But the expression on the male on the left is...bored? Impersonal?
