Tuesday campout
Tuesday's theme is camping out, and we start with that basic need of every camper,
the sleeping bag. This guy has one that looks big enough for two.
I'd have been very happy to have shared it with him. He's a good looking guy. The Scouts motto is 'be prepared' and he seems to have come prepared. It also helps if you have the right equipment on a camping trip and he definitely has some great equipment. Any idea who he is or where this is from, Jerry?
This reminds me of a mountain climbing class I went to. The instruction was that when someone is suffering from hyperthermia, they need to get their clothes off immediately and make full body contact with someone else who is unclothed under as many covers as possible. Then, they showed an instructional video of it. It showed two actors "suffering" from hypothermia. The guide got them into a tent and commanded them, "Now get all of your clothes off and get into that bag!" I think the entire class was about to burst a gut. The class was big on practice, practice, practice; including going to the mountain (Mt. Hood) and make igloos. I had to drop out of the class due to a knee injury, but I wonder if they put that hypothermia drill into practice.
When we went camping, we shared a double sleeping bag. I wonder who this man shared his sleeping bag with.
ReplyDeleteConsidering that this came from a mainstream nudist magazine, I'm guessing his companion was a woman.

I recall the source being a legitimate 1960s American nudist magazine.

Was it a mixed or all male class?
DeleteMixed, but there were only a couple women in it. It was run by Mazamas, the main mountain climbing club in Oregon.
