A Reminder

 No sexually explicit comments, please

I am not a prude, but have long had a policy of discouraging sexually explicit comments on the blog.  (It is mentioned on the FAQ page under my approach to comments.)  Usually, I simply delete them, and on those occasions when it is done repeatedly, I send the person a request to stop.  Earlier today I deleted a comment by a long time viewer who became very angry and accused me of censorship.  While I can understand wanting to freely express one's reaction to the images I post, I need to remind everyone that it is my blog and I prefer not to have such comments made.  I am not interested in viewers' sexual proclivities, their sexual histories, or what specific sex acts they would like to do with the men in the photos.  I have no problem with the occasional "he's hot" or "I'd like to have a date with him" comment.  I freely tolerate discussions on circumcision, and I don't post images labeled as "big ones" or "small ones" and expect people not to comment on the size of the penises in question.

There are tons of chat rooms and other blogs where you are free to let your keyboard run wild with your fantasies and desires.  Please do it there and not here.  Thank you.

  3. Most of us have no problem with your artistic blog, in any way at all. I’ve yet to find anything inappropriate with content or comments. After all, it’s your blog, your rules.

    1. Thanks, Greggy. I try to cultivate a genteel atmosphere, which isn't always easy given the subject matter. The reason you haven't seen any offensive comments is due to the fact that I delete the rare ones that occur as soon as I see them. I do not use moderation, so sometimes they are on here a few hours before I clean them up. It's too bad that some people find my definition of offensive to be offensive.

  4. I hope the guy you referenced will have a change of heart, and not take things personally. You have every right to set parameters for your own website. It may be censorship, but so what? You're not judging him or anyone else. And knowing you from this blog, I'm sure that you were utterly respectful of the person who made the complaint, and that it didn't amount to a virtual Academy Award slap in the face.

    1. Thank you. Yes, it's my space, and that entails certain rights.

  5. Well said, Jerry. Apart from the excellent and wide ranging photographs and artwork that you feature, the other reason why your blog is a favourite of mine are the viewer comments, ranging from the well informed to witty but never lewd or salacious. There are more than enough blogs that cater for more explicit comments if that's what people want. Keep up the good work, Jerry.
