Linear
There's a linear element to the pose in this Blakey
The right angle between his right leg and torso is truly cool. I like the lighting, too. The male clearly stands out, yet the background is not very dark.
My favourite in this series. It works on so many levels for me. A beautifully shot and arranged photo, a handsome model with a great physique and an interesting pose. It would be good to see any comments David has about this pose.
Definitely a linear feel to this. Big Dude is right to highlight the right angle aspect too. I love the right angle of his legs. This frames his maleness beautifully and, without wishing to offend, his penis hangs perfectly to add to this linear aspect.
My Roy Blakey collection is quite limited, but he may be John Converse, a model who appears in only one identified picture. Also, Mr. Blakey photographed some fairly well known dancers and actors, as well as men who modeled for other photographers. So you could easily have seen him elsewhere.

ReplyDeleteI agree. See my comment below.

True on all points. The package is part of the geometry, and it works to bring the whole image together.
DeleteThis model looks familiar. Have you seen him in other shots?

ReplyDeleteI hadn't noticed, but you're right.
