Molin
This damaged painting by Benoit Molin shows how poorly
some very good academic pieces have been conserved.
They are probably the most useful and maybe used prop. They facilitate so many poses. Furthermore, they add a vertical feature to the pose which the artists can use as a guide. It feels great, too.
Thankfully, the damage does not detract too much from the splendidly, I think, oil-lit back study. We certainly like using our poles.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, I've learned that those staffs are not just for looks.
