This is supposed to be the original, unrestored scan of this picture that has made the rounds a few times on the vintage nude blog circuit. Somehow, I haven't got around to posting it until now. I never get tired of looking at these two fellow who seem happy and comfortable being photographed nude.
Cute guys.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that I could ever get tired of looking at this either, Jerry. Two good looking guys with lovely (and impressive) packages but the photo is so much more than that. It really does capture a sense of freedom and ease with their own bodies and with each other that is just delightful. I do think that if a similar photo was taken now (and that's probably a big if) it would feature some over the top posing or larking about as opposed to this completely relaxed and natural image.
ReplyDeletePeter
Right. How do two adult males appear completely nude, yet innocent at the same time? This is how.
DeleteAny idea when this was taken, Jerry? I'd say late '40s but I'm probably wrong.
ReplyDeletePeter
I also think it's late '40s, Peter.
DeleteThey're still young and naked here, what're they doing anyway
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that there is a swimming site nearby.
DeleteI have seen this somewhere before. Back then having a penis an scrotum was not a source of shame. Too bad times have changed for the worse.
ReplyDeleteThe photo has made the rounds.
DeleteA long-time personal favourite from that era.
ReplyDeleteOne of the first vintage digital images I downloaded.
DeleteAll of these are really great. Thanks so much for posting!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Vik!
DeleteVery nice. The person who took the photo must have really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have a feeling the bonhomie went all around.
DeleteJerry - VMM, You're the best ! Where do you get these images? Especially the older ones. -Rj in the IE.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be amazed what it takes to round these up. Some sources: other blogs, vintage resale websites, museum websites, google images searches. It goes on and on.
DeleteOne of my favorite photos (I own a copy). I can imagine my dad posing like this one the back of his '40 Ford Coupe.
ReplyDeleteYour dad must have been more adventurous than mine.
