Chuck Renslow might be able to claim his own museum for his work at Kris Studio,
and he would deserve it. He founded the Leather Archives and Museum in Chicago, and while
it understandably features a lot of his and his partner Etienne, there are other artists included.
For our purposes today, I'm using this excellent Kris photo of Thom Muscalino.
The side lighting is what makes this picture succeed. Also, the model's body is well-proportioned in all aspects. Good post.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI detect a bit of The Shadow on his right thigh. It is a beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteWith that sort of lighting, there had to be a shadow.
DeleteWell, absolutely hello Mr Muscalino. What a fabulous shot.
ReplyDeleteTo my mind, the off centering, among other things, makes it a masterpiece; it even works as an allegory of a healthy and skeptical and brave human stance in the face of the inevitable unfathomable. Like a modern David facing a Goliath who is everywhere. But I do wax! Forgive. In short, this is a beautiful photo.
ReplyDeletePlacing him off center was brilliant.
