Kovert of Hollywood

Freddie Kovert was the moving force behind Kovert of Hollywood, a photo studio that
did virtually nothing but male nudes in the years immediately after World War II.  It turns
out that Freddie may have been more of an artistic director and talent recruiter than a
photographer as recent research has found that many of the photos were taken by hired
professionals.  Tragically, Fred's business ran afoul of the law, and he committed suicide
in 1949 in the face of arrest and legal fees.  This is Jack Conant.

  1. I like this pose! Ready, set, go! I wonder why you don't see it much. You can still see his tan lines well enough, though. Mr. Conant seems less heavily oiled than some of the other males in this series. By the way, I thought "Kovert" was just a code word used because the pix were done covertly, contravening laws of that era.

    1. I didn't want to believe that "Kovert" was his actual name, either, but I found him on the U.S. Census as a child with parents of the same surname. On a different note, I need to give Jack Conant his own series.

  2. This is a really good pose. Another great series, Jerry. Fred Kovert managed to work with some really good looking guys. A Jack Conant series would be good.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the set. Conant worked for AMG as well as Kovert, so there should be plenty of good material for a series.

  3. Jack is my absolute favorite physique model. He has that something extra. He always looks natural and relaxed in all the photo's I've seen.

    1. Then you will no doubt be pleased to know that Jack is getting his own day here on 11 July.
