Larry Carr
Those tan lines on Larry Carr harken back to the days
when it was gauche for men's bathing suits to show navel.
I didn't realize this was a Kovert photo because I thought Larry posed for 1 or 2 photographers. His series with Tom Mathews is amazing. Have you seen his series with Dale Curry? He's leaning in on a balustrade a lot to lessen the obvious height difference. It would appear that both Larry and Tom were both at least 6'2" or taller.
I never knew that it was gauche to show navel. When did that change? His tan lines are striking, though, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteThey were making Tarzan movies late in World War II where they refused to show navel, so I guess things loosened up in the late 40s.

ReplyDeleteYes, I've seen the pairing of Larry and Dale Curry. This is yet another model who deserves his own series.
