Lalaing models

While reorganizing some of my files, I found a group of photo studies made either by or for the Anglo-Belgian sculptor Jacque Lalaing.  There were about a dozen "new" ones that I had collected since the last series on this subject.  We start this group with a guy who puts his best foot forward.

  1. No shadows. Was that intentional, or a result of some technical trick?

    1. I'm not sure, but it may have to do with the primitive flash photography used. It was known for its "blanching" effects which also may have minimized the appearance of body hair.

  2. Many thanks Jerry. AS you know, anything like this gets my interest. Despite the "blanching" we clearly have a splendid proportionate model. Mentally filling in some of the details. A superb and inspiring pose.
