Society of Pat Rocco Enlightened Enthusiasts - SPREE

Pat Rocco was a pivotal figure in Gay History, and his SPREE organization was the driving force behind a number of progressive developments in Los Angeles in the late 1960s and 1970s.  Click on the label for some earlier posts with more details.  Today we look at just five of the many programs Mr. Rocco and his associates promoted.  We start with a construction project at the Gay Community Center.  As you will see, most of SPREE's activities were clothing optional.

    1. SPREE stands for Society of Pat Rocco Enlightened Enthusiasts. I didn’t know anything about it until today’s very interesting post, but the link below is also very interesting and worth a look

  2. I am too young to have been aware of the gay liberation movements of the late 1960s and early 1970s but I read these articles with interest and great pride and admiration for those that went before us, changed history and made the world a better place.
