I think this is from a World War II Japanese ship.
I'm not sure what it is about the vintage (and some modern) Asian that seem so unintentionally grim. Dank, dreary, and underexposed seems to be the only style of photography these guys are capable of.

ReplyDeleteThere are some very good post-war Japanese photographers, but prior to that it was pretty dreary.
