Roy Dean Day

Roy Dean produced a number of tasteful and well photographed coffee table books of male nudes in the 1970s.  Today we'll look at five examples of his work, starting with Rick Draisin.

  1. Handsome, hairy and hung. With low hangers to boot. Jerry, how did these be photographers find models? It doesn't seem likely they ran ads in the papers. Or did they?

    1. That's a good question. By this time there might have been a pool of known models to draw from. In the earlier physique days, photographers trolled the gyms and hustler hotspots.

  2. Has anyone mentioned how redneck the name Roy Dean sounds? Really fits a generation that wore cowboy gear everywhere.

    1. Yes, but especially if followed by a surname, i.e., Roy Dean Smith, with RoyDean pronounced as one word. I grew up around hundreds of men with such arrangements.
