Duckies

Closing out Wally Schillicut day with a washtub scene featuring some of Mizer's Menagerie.
Bob Mizer of AMG had, at various times, ducks, goats, monkeys, dogs, snakes, chickens, and cats.  According to James IV (who would know) there was even a resident employee whose job it was to look after all the critters.  He and Mizer famously argued constantly, but actually liked each other.

  2. I think I described Mr. Shillicut as adorable in an earlier post. Well, if proof were needed, here it is! The ducks are pretty cute too!

Thanks again for an excellent and we'll deserved series, Jerry.

    1. He's enjoying himself, isn't he? This was a fun series to put together, Peter, so the pleasure is mine. Glad you liked it.

  3. Even with a pouch, isn't a little bit dangerous being so close to the ducks?
Ducks, as chickens love worms (and worm-looking things too..).

    1. Right! I had ducks as a kid, and they tend to snap at wiggly things.

  4. Great series on Mr. Shillicut, thanks for posting. Wondering why James IV would know about Mizer's 'zoo keeper'? And mentioning James IV I think it his his blog 'Men from back then', it hasn't been updated since April 23rd, is he OK. Seems strange he just stopped posting without a word. Your blog & his blog are the first two I check daily.

    1. James posted here that he is OK, but has a back issue that keeps him from sitting at the computer for long periods. Hopefully he will be back soon. Glad you enjoyed the series!

    1. LOL, but not as deadly as geese. Don't start me on them.

    2. It's a comic book reference. When Young Justice goes to Earth-3, the evil universe in DC Comics, Tim meets his counterpart, who goes by Drake. And he says he named himself after the most dangerous of birds. (Which, if you know anything about duck mating...)

Tim starts calling himself Drake from then on. Nobody mentions having your last name as your superhero alias is lame, or that a drake is a duck, until Joker War, when Harley Quinn calls him Duckboy.

*sigh* How does Bendis keep finding work?
