Kevin
Dave Martin didn't use swords or columns as much as some physique photographers,
but he put them to good use in this picture of Kevin Hall.
KEVIN HALL posed for Dave Martin in 1971. One of the few 1970s Dave Martin Models I have ever seen. Did Martin ever disclose what college KEVIN attended or any other information?
I noticed that by the late 1960s Martin seemed to disclose less information about some of his Models. For example Charlie Wall in 1968. I have 5 Photos of Charlie by Martin and still do not know what college he attended.? Or what sports he played? I have always wondered if some Models like Charlie requested that Martin disclose less information.
It wouldn't surprise me if some models wanted privacy, plus there's a good chance that at least a few of them didn't play any sports or attend college.
I do like Kevin's arm unusual arrangement. Nicely displaying his development and forming a sort of balancing point with the sword. This could have looked awkward, but here it works rather well. Also, a good shadow.
It's cool the way he is holding his wrist, rather than resting both hands on the haft of the sword.
ReplyDeleteIt works.

DeleteNot that I've seen. The note cards in my collection seem to all be from before 1970.

ReplyDeleteThe arrangement, as you say, is unconventional, but quite effective.
