The Nap, 1952
This is another example of Paul Cadmus using a sleeping male subject. It's The Nap from 1952,
and I have to say that the way he captured the light from the window is quite good.
I really like this one, Jerry. I like the striking purple colour, the great rendering of the light and the simply furnished room (look at that bentwood chair and the parquetry floor!).
While he did do some frontal male nudes at this point in his career, it's unlikely that they were publicly exhibited. Looking at his later work, it seems like frontal is mostly what he did.
