African-American
This African-American model appears in a number of Eakins' studio photos.
Given the racial climate of the 1880's, I somehow doubt he was a student.
Curiously, this man's facial features do not appear African American to me. Are those features more prominent in other Eakins photos?
ReplyDeleteI think many would call him mixed race, but his features do look somewhat more African-American in some of Eakins' other photos of him.
