Bob D.

I've held off posting this photo of Bob Delmonteque for a long time out of sympathy
for the poor bear, but I couldn't resist using it in today's series.

  1. Bob looks handsome no matter what. As for the bear...Times change,Jerry. We would not use one today but ignoring the past because of that is pointless. You acknowledged the difference. One cannot demand any more.

    1. I certainly don't believe in erasing the past . . . even the mistakes. We should learn from them, but often don't.

  2. While also having sympathy for the polar bear I think you were right to include this photo in the series, Jerry. Bob is such a handsome guy and has the look of a well sculpted statue. As with Mr Kozak, Bob was another model who has a classical look and is able to hold a superb pose.

    1. Peter, I have this paradoxical opinion about Bob Delmonteque. He is not the "type" that I find attractive at all, but the quality of his modeling and the photographers (mainly Douglas of Detroit) who worked with him leave me in awe. I probably wouldn't have given him a second glance if I passed him on the street not knowing who he was, but when I see these pictures, I am mightily impressed.

    2. Jerry, That makes perfect sense to me. Even to the untrained eye (mine) I can appreciate the artistry and expertise of some of the photographers and how they are able to work with and bring out the best in some of their models. That certain models, such as Bob D, have great physiques obviously helps but their ability to strike and hold a great pose makes for some stunning images that we are fortunate to be able to enjoy.

    3. I meant to add ... that we are able to enjoy irrespective of our personal 'types' or preferences.
