Martin
Montana ranch hand Martin Carue posed for this Chuck Renslow photo in 1967.
He must have left his hat and pants at home.
Used by kind permission of copyright holder, Leather Archives and Museum of Chicago.
I love this photo. Mr. Carue is a great looking guy. Do you think he could have been a ranch hand, Jerry? He'd look great in cowboy gear but I suspect he wasn't one in real life.
According to Chuck Renslow's notes and the caption he used in the magazine, Martin was a ranch hand. Having grown up on a working ranch, I can tell you that doesn't automatically make him a cowboy. The skill sets overlap a bit, but are really different in some key ways. Assuming he told Mr. Renslow the truth and the jacket/boots are his and not props, I can believe it.
Thanks for your comments, Jerry. I'm happy to believe that Martin was a ranch hand. I hope he didn't forget to get dressed properly before he went to work!
Ah, Jerry, you know how easy it is to forget your pants & skivvies! It could happen to any guy. Lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that must have happened a lot with Chuck Renslow's models.
