Jimmy

This is Jimmy Hakim from October of 1975.  Interestingly,
it does not feature the earthy orange tint so common at the time.

  2. The "earthy orange tint" you mention was often caused by poor film / lighting combinations. Some films were balanced for daylight, some for incandescent lighting and if the wrong combination was used, or if correction filters were not used, that was often the result. Some photographers actually attempted to achieve that look, especially with men as their subjects, because it gave a more tanned, outdoorsy, athletic look. Then there was the lovely ghostly blue-green tint that came from shooting under fluorescent lighting.

    1. While I didn't know about the film/lighting issues (thank you), it was pretty obvious that at some point the photographers started going for that dusky tint.

    2. Yes, his features are at least partly Arabic, especially his eyes. Pretty progressive for back then, when only a smattering even of black men (and no Asians yet, that I recall) had appeared.
